My wedding set needs a really good clean-up and the jewelry cleaner I bought at the store does not seem to be cutting it. I heard toothpaste was a good way to clean my ring but then someone told me that the toothpaste was too abrasive, is that true?

I got home my great grandmother when we were claning and was very dusty and some of the old files are dusty, too, should be cleaned. I belive these files are Edison Diamond Discs.
There are normal household products that I use to clean it? Do not want to buy a $ 50 special cleaner.

I’ve read that you can utilize Original Alka Seltzer (put into water, simply like you’d common use it) to clean up jewelry by letting the jewelry soak in it.
